A Full Continuum of Care
In 1993, H. Wayne Creighton formed Interlink Counseling Services, Inc., with the intention of eventually creating a full continuum of care for its clients. His goal was to foster a holistic, transitional, living facility dedicated to the physical, social, psychological, and spiritual restoration of homeless veterans around the US. Furthermore, Interlink was designed to provide highly structured and accountable DUI services and marriage and family therapy in a nurturing environment. Since its initial creation, Interlink has blossomed from providing ten transitional living beds to being one of the largest homeless veteran programs in the state of Kentucky with over 160 beds. Along with its previous services, Interlink Counseling Services currently provides a non-medical detoxification facility called the Landing Zone, Harmony House, a 90-day intensive treatment program, and Genesis House, a long-term transitional living facility in which residents can stay up to two (2) years. After clients complete all of the stages of the programs, after-care plans are specially designed to meet their needs, and they are encouraged to return to Interlink at any time as ambassadors to teach classes and mentor new clients as they progress through their recovery.
In order to provide an opportunity for permanent supportive housing and to ease the transition into independent living for the veterans who have completed the program, Interlink partnered with Serenity Court Apartments and Coventry Commons to construct apartment complexes for low-income housing. Serenity Court Apartments is currently located on Interlink campus property next to the residential treatment center. Additionally, Interlink is currently in the process of creating a new venture designed so that professional mental health staff can come and acquire their Continuing Education Units at Interlink and summits nationwide. As the years progress, Interlink continues to fulfill the original vision of its founder to serve those in need within its community. Indeed, H. Wayne Creighton has dedicated his life to helping America’s veterans and those with mental health and substance abuse issues by providing them with a full continuum of care.

Interlink staff and clients wish to express gratitude for many years of generous support provided by the Louisville Veterans Administration Medical Center Homeless Outreach Team and Volunteer Services for helping clothe our Veteran clients each year. They truly understand what it means to “Adopt-a-Vet”. Thank you.

”Adopt-a-Vet” Homeless Veteran Christmas Clothing Fundraiser Not Just for Christmas Time Providing Christmas cheer, gifts, and meals to our veterans is probably the most important reason we begin the fundraiser to “Adopt-a-Vet” as early as possible! Even though there’s it remains one of our most important events because it holds a special place in our homeless veteran’s memories. For some veterans, their Christmas at Interlink Counseling Services is one of the most joyous times of their lives.
